Wallets for men and women have become necessities. Wallets hold everything, from ID to credit cards, to bills and coins. And depending on size, especially wallets for women, they hold virtually everything a woman needs to make her day run smoothly!
In reality, it has become a necessity to use wallets just so the most valuable and most used personal items we carry everyday such as cash, credit cards, identification cards, driver’s license, school ID, club card or social security card, photographs, business cards, and other paper or laminated cards are all within easy reach
Wallets are made of popular materials suited for prolong use and they come mainly from canvas, cotton, faux leather, lambskin, genuine leather, microfiber, nylon, polyester, PVC, velvet, and vinyl. As we all know, most wallets sizes are tailored to fit-in into a pocket and many are foldable suited for handbags.
The most common types of wallets are:
Bi-fold wallets – as the name suggests, it folds in the middle into half. These by far are the most common wallets used by men and have seemingly been categorized as the standard wallet. They can hold currency notes which are placed across the wallet and are folded once; several credit cards which cam placed vertically or horizontally as well as identification cards. These wallets are the most popular in men’s styles because they fit the back pocket perfectly.
Breast wallets – differ from the bi-folds and tri-folds with its fold running along the length of the wallet and keeping the currency notes as flat as possible without any fold. In Europe, these breast wallets are commonly called Secretary Wallets. They are not for trouser pockets, but in fact, for inside the coat pocket. A lot of men prefer this style of wallets so that they won’t have bulging back pockets.
Money clip wallets – the currency notes are not placed inside the wallet but rather they are clipped outside the wallet with an accompanying money clip. The inside of the wallets can hold credit cards and identification cards. For men on the go, this is a favorite because there are no extraneous papers to carry around, just bills and cards.
Front pocket wallets – these are not commonly used wallets but the main advantage of this type is that it is harder for the pickpockets to get since they are designed to fit in the front pockets. This is function with security, combined.
Cheque book wallets – the primary purpose of these wallets is to hold cheque books. Some are designed to also allow space for currency notes, credit cards and coins. They are longer and do not fold. Personal checks, the smaller ones can be accommodated. However, a typical business check issued in then States is longer, so this won’t suffice.
Clutch Wallets – these are typically bigger that the other types of wallets and are very stylish. They are not meant to be placed inside a pocket or in a bag. They can be carried by themselves and are spacious enough to hold credit cards, identifications cards, currency notes and other personal items. These wallets are most often favored by women. Clutch wallets are roomy enough for powder, lipstick and a small bottle of perfume.
Wrist wallet – as the name implies, are placed on the wrist to keep the hands free. These are usually favored by people on the go, or who are traveling. The wrist strap is added security to ward off pickpockets in popular tourist destinations.
Travel Wallets – are designed for the convenient use of frequent travelers. They can hold essential travel documents together such as passports, tickets, boarding pass, foreign currency, traveler’s cheques, travel insurance, and travel itinerary. Keeping all these important documents together is not only necessary but practical as well.
Whatever style you choose, a wallets main purpose is to keep all your stuff together and securely. Whether they’re credit cards, ID, currency or important scraps of paper, the right sized wallet can accommodate them all!
